Cabinetry Material (Board Used)
What material is used?
Our cabinetry is made from 16 mm Moisture Resistant (MR) MDF with an E0 low-emission rating.
Who supplies the board?
We source from Laminex and Polytec.
What does E0 MR MDF mean?
E0 = low formaldehyde emissions, MR = moisture resistant, MDF = medium density fibreboard.
Why 16 mm thickness?
It is the industry standard, offering strength, durability, manageable weight, and hardware compatibility.
Is MR MDF waterproof?
No, it is moisture-resistant only and should not be exposed to prolonged water contact.
Where is it suitable?
For general interior cabinetry such as bedrooms, living rooms, and studies.
How do I care for it?
Wipe with a soft cloth and mild, soapy water. Dry immediately, and avoid using abrasives or harsh chemicals. -
What type of mattress is recommended?
All our wall beds are designed for use with a quality innerspring mattress, as this provides the correct support and maintains the proper lift balance for smooth operation.
Heavy latex mattresses are not recommended, as their additional weight can affect the counterbalance and overall performance of the wall bed. What mattress fits the Alpha Bed?
The Alpha Single, Double, and Queen models are designed to fit Australian standard-size mattresses, up to 30cm thick and weighing up to 50kg.
The Alpha King frame is manufactured to U.S. King mattress dimensions. An Australian King mattress (up to 30cm thick and 55kg) will sit with a 7cm visual gap on each side, which does not affect the way the wall bed operates.
We can also provide a U.S. King mattress that fits this frame perfectly and uses Australian Super King linen, making it simple to dress and maintain a snug fit. What mattress fits the NeXt Bed?
The NeXt Bed Mechanism (without cabinetry) can accommodate an Australian standard-size mattress up to 30cm thick and weighing up to 50kg.
When paired with cabinetry, the NeXt Bed accommodates an Australian standard-size mattress up to 27cm thick and weighing up to 50kg, ensuring the bed closes correctly within the cabinetry frame.
